Wielkopolski Square
Staked out on the plan of a rectangle. Called until nowadays the Sapieżyński Square by the oldest inhabitants of Poznań. In the past, a garden park was arranged on its area, a mini-square in its north part is the remaining of that garden park. Currently, it is one of the biggest fruit and vegetable markets of the city. Around the square there are tramways with the possibility of going on the circumference of a circle. The around-the-market architecture is socrealistic dating back to the fifties of XX century, with the historicist detail. Apartments in the building are flat and cramped. West and eats perspectives are closed with the frontage of the square, north perspective is open into the Solna Street, south perspective open into the Przemysła Castle. The Great Poland Square was supposed to connect the old part of Poznań with the new part of Poznań.
