New ZOO – elephants’ housing

The garden covering the area of117 hawas opened in 1974 after a ten-year construction. It was successively modernized and developed. One may walk around the zoo or use a railway which has several stops. The area of the zoo offers FortIIIof 1881 constituting one of the elements of the Poznań Fortress for visiting. A big run for tigers is equipped with a platform making it possible to watch animals from the above. The zoological garden presents also, among others, one of the biggest in Europe, modern elephants’ housing.
