Wooden barracks at the Opolska Street
Two rows of wooden barracks. The barracks were constructed in 1936 as social flats for the poor and homeless. It is an example of inter-war social construction for the poorest financed by the city authorities. Until today their forms and shapes remain almost unchanged since their establishment. The only change refers to the decommissioning of outside toilets and their construction inside the buildings. They still fulfill their initial role. The road between the barracks has remained an unsurfaced road until today. Flats in the barracks are very modest, most often one-room. The windows of some flats with satellite TV dishes! Little front gardens in the front of the barracks, some of them more and some of them less neat.
