Rusałka
It has the area of 36.7 ha, it was created as the Bogdanka River backwater in 1943. Earthworks were conducted by prisoners of forced labor camps, mainly Jewish people. For the purpose of the construction of bridges over water courses, among others, matzevas from the Jewish cemetery liquidated by the Germans were used. In the forests, there are 3 monuments commemorating victims of mass execution of prisoners of VII Fort in Poznań. Around the lake there are deciduous, coniferous and mixed forests, vast clearings, paths in open and closed spaces. At the bank of the lake there is a marina dating back to the sixties of XX century with piers, grassy and sandy beaches. Bars in pavilions also date back to that period. On the area of the buffer zone around the lake there are rails together with a railway viaduct. The Rusałka Lake was numerously used as a movie set, among others in “Ogniem i Mieczem" [with Fire and Sword] by Jerzy Hoffman.
