One of the three oldest zoological gardens in Poland. The only garden operating until nowadays without any discontinuance of operation. Thanks to the above mentioned fact, small cages dating back to the time of the establishment of the garden have been preserved as well as partially the initial layout of numerous, meandering alleys. Additionally, the garden has also elephants’ housing and the pavilion for big predators constructed in the Moorish style, a cave resembling the Azure Cave on Capri preserved from the early stage of the garden as well as the aviary of the later period. Nowadays the number of animals is limited. Since 2009, the garden has been fulfilling the role of the park. Closed perspectives apart from the southern perspective with the view over the Bukowska street.
