Old Market Square
The market in the rectangular shape with the frontage 140 m long. Closed perspective. Frontages developed with buildings constructed in many architectonic styles ranging from gothic, through baroque, classicism, and finally the developments of the turning of XIX and XX centuries. The center of the medieval city. Tenements renovated in most cases. 12 streets with various perspectives spread from the Market – including streets with closed perspectives with the developments dating back to XVII century, as well as streets with open perspectives with modern developments. There are four fountains at the Market out of which one dates back to XVIII century and others to the turning of XX and XXI centuries. The intra-market development is diversified – a renaissance Town Hall, brick Budnik tenements (so called herring stalls), a socrealistic building of the Artistic Exhibitions Office as well as a neoclassic building of Odwach. The surface of the market is paved.
