Matejki Street
The street 1100 m long, directed from north to south. Asphalt surface of the roadway. It constitutes a main part of the Johow-Gelände urban layout dating back to the beginning of XX century. In accordance with the layout in the quarter of streets tenements with various standards of apartments were located. At the Matejki Street the most luxurious apartments with rich fittings and the area ranging from 120 to 360 m² were designed. In spite of the fact various architects worked over the serious of tenements they managed to obtain a stylistic consequence. In spite of the fact that buildings are not pure in their form, there are numerous elements of the secession architecture together characteristic for that style ornaments of façades. In the south frontage of the west part of the street there is a complex of 2 half-timbered buildings from XIX century. In the north frontage there are elements of the interwar period construction W (High School No. II). Scarce municipal villas among tenements.
