Kasztanowa Street – housing district
It was built in years 1948‑1960. An urban layout covered five colonies of residential buildings, next to which commercial facilities, schools and kindergartens were supposed to be established. Due to the passing time, in the course of the implementation each of the colonies (with its courtyards, arcades) it demonstrates a little different architectonic character, which does not interfere with a general conception of designers, that is the establishing of the city within a city. The complex is considered to constitute one of the most interesting examples of the socrealistic architecture in Poland.
