Fort VI
A set fortifications surrounding Poznań which used to be part of the defensive system of the Poznań Fortress built in the second half of XIX century. Constructed in accordance with a German military construction system for surrounding fortresses with the defensive walls. Along the circle of forts leads the road encompassing the city’s outer defensive ring. Out of all forts that survived many historical periods, Fort VI is to the largest extent resembling its original design. There was very a small construction interference into the facility in the later centuries. Until this moment, buildings of the defensive barracks, caponniere, dry ditch and outer gates remain in the same shape.
