Warsaw, May 1905. A young girl, involved in relationships with independence activists, gets out of prison and is sold to Franciszka Szlimakowska's exclusive brothel. She takes the name Yvette and, working as a prostitute, decides to earn money to go to her beloved in Siberia. He wants to take his life into his own hands, hoping for a change of fate. He does not foresee the coming storm that will be caused by a political conspiracy born in the head of the Tsarist Okhrana, General Margrafski, carried out with one of the most dangerous men of the Warsaw underworld, a corrupt policeman, Wiktor Grun. The repressions so far are acting on proud Poles like a rag on a bull, bringing closer the threat of an independence movement, which the army stationed in Warsaw may not be able to cope with. The mood is too strong, so Margrafski decides to redirect his energy in another direction and provoke moral riots. The target is to be Warsaw brothels. The script is an adaptation of Wacław Holewiński's novel Pogrom 1905.
